(Or not quite, really, but it's when I took the pictures. Some of these may be gone by May 15th.)
Among the currently blooming - spectacular bleeding hearts:
White bleeding heart with yellow epimedium:
More bleeding hearts in the background of Virginia bluebells:
Pale blue 'Valerie Finnis' muscari:
Lilacs in bloom!
And the wonderful clove-scented 'Mohawk' viburnum:
My favorite daffodil, 'Yellow Cheerfulness':
And another daffodil; I think this is 'Bridal Crown.'
It's still cool enough to keep the daffodils and other heat-haters blooming for a while longer. A fantastic weekend.
Our daffodils will be around for a while, our weekend has been chilly and damp, but glad for the quarter inch of rain, it's brush fire season in NH. The lungwort is blooming, but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have daffodils finally!!
DeleteIt's interesting to me that you have daffodils, bleeding hearts, and lilacs blooming simultaneously. Here near Seattle, the daffodils are usually over by the time the bleeding hearts arrive, and the bleeding hearts are near the end of their main burst (I continue to get a few blossoms well into summer) before the lilacs begin.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite often true here as well, but this year is all discombobulated because of spring getting a late start. I've had the daffodil period last only a couple of weeks because of early heat - glad to have them still going!
